FOOD HANDLER TRAINING
Who Should Attend?
A compulsory course for all Food
Handlers as stipulated in the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 issued by the
Ministry of Health Malaysia which requires all food handlers to be trained in
Food Handling and to be familiar with these Regulations.
It is also one of the requirements by the local authority to obtain food premise license.Recommended for those indirectly associated with the food industry to create awareness and gain knowledge on basic food hygiene and prevention from food borne hazards.

Definition of a Food Handler:
Any person who:
- Is directly involved with the preparation of food
- Comes into contact with food or food contact surfaces
- Handles packaged or unpackaged food or appliances
Imperative therefore that food
handler who works in any of the following sectors should attend this Food
Handling Training Program:
- Food Processing or Food Storage Facilities
- Food outlets (school/ office/ factory canteen, kiosk, stalls, food court, restaurant and food caterers, night market, etc)
- Hotels, Motels & Resorts
- Nurseries, Kindergartens, Childcare Centres
- Bakery and Pasty outlets
- Onshore/offshore Oil and Gas Caterers
- Supermarkets, Hypermarkets
- Any others related industry
By attending this training, Food
Handlers can avoid from being fined up to the maximum RM 10,000 fine or up to
two (2) years imprisonment, or both by the Ministry of Health or being charged
by Local Authority.
